Feiras Novas 2026 in Ponte de Lima: September festival days
From 9 to 14 September 2026, Ponte de Lima will celebrate Feiras Novas. It is one of the town’s most important annual moments and brings many visitors to the historic centre.
The Municipality of Ponte de Lima describes Feiras Novas as “the largest live congress of popular culture in Portugal”. The festival is held in honour of Nossa Senhora das Dores and is recognised as National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
During these days, Ponte de Lima becomes much livelier than usual: concertinas, traditional singing, folklore groups, food, music and people in the streets from day into evening. For travellers who want to see the Minho at a festive time of year, September is a good moment to visit.
