A weekend in Ponte de Lima for the Festa do Vinho Verde
From 12 to 14 June 2026, Ponte de Lima hosts the 34th Festa do Vinho Verde e dos Produtos Regionais. If you are in the Minho in June, this weekend is a good reason not just to walk through Ponte de Lima, but to stay a little longer.
The festival takes place at Expolima and brings together what this region does well: Vinho Verde, regional products, simple food, people from the area and visitors who want more than a quick photo of the bridge.
Here, Vinho Verde is not just decoration on a menu. It is part of the landscape. The vines, small producers and conversations about weather and harvest are closer to everyday life in the Minho than to a formal wine tasting.
That is exactly why the festival suits Ponte de Lima so well. The town is small enough to explore on foot, but lively enough for weekends like this to feel special. Walk through the historic centre, follow the river or discover regional products, and it quickly becomes clear why many guests return after their first visit.
For families or friends, a weekend like this is often more pleasant when it does not end in a hotel room. In a holiday home, you can sit together after the festival, cook something simple, try the cheese or cured ham you bought, and let the day end without a restaurant plan.
Our holiday homes are a practical base for exactly that: enough space for several people, a kitchen for quiet evenings and the possibility to discover Ponte de Lima and the surrounding area without constantly packing and unpacking.
A lovely weekend could be simple: arrive on Friday, visit the Festa do Vinho Verde on Saturday, wander through Ponte de Lima in between and have a slow breakfast on Sunday before perhaps heading to Viana do Castelo, Braga or the Atlantic coast.
The official tourism website of Ponte de Lima lists the Festa do Vinho Verde 2026 for 12 to 14 June with free admission. Visit Portugal also lists the event with these dates and Expolima as the venue.
If you would like to spend a few days in the Minho in June, this weekend is a good occasion. Not because you need a big programme, but because food, wine and a quiet place to return to can sometimes be exactly enough.
